Susie Shina vs. The Bikini

So Carla Young, founder of MOMeo Magazine recently gave a rave review about my fitness flip-book, 60 Second Circuits: 1000 Ways to Get Your Body Back. She asked me how it all came to be … soooooo, I gave her the low-down about my past battles with bikini season. (play scary music here…)

Right after I had kids, “bikini season” became synonymous with Doomsday.

Dread. Fear. Disgust. Loathing. and that was just trying on swimsuits in the dressing room.

It’s crazy how a small amount of fabric can cause such a ruckus.

The ruckus starts with some crazy diet or detox, followed by a butt-kickin’ workout regime
then slowly winds down with a good self-tanner
(everyone knows tan fat looks way better than pale fat) and
finally acceptance in the form of a cover-up.
I experienced my final bikini season ruckus 6 years ago.

After my soul-crushing bikini season experience in a post-baby body, I actually
have nothing to say to my bikini now except “THANK YOU”… the video clip explains why I would ever thank a bikini.

That single experience put me on the path to help all moms love their bodies again. We deserve
to look and feel great. We grew another human being inside of us for crying out loud!
If we can do that, we can do anything.

My name is Susie Shina. I want to help you OWN your bikini.

Story of the Smelly Sneakers

Have you ever allowed something that ’stinks’ to be part of your experience?

Bitching, moaning, griping, blaming, wondering why it stinks so bad … instead of taking a minute to figure out what that ‘bad smell’ is so you can do something about it?

Well, it just happened to me.

I sat with a bad smell in my office most of the day.  My husband (wolverine) left his sneakers under my desk.  The same sneakers he wears to the mountain bike trails … the same ones I’ve seen him wear WITHOUT socks to cut the grass.

Instead of taking the time to figure out what the smell was, I decided to COMPLAIN ABOUT IT..

I was too busy complaining about how bad it smelled in my office to take action and better my circumstances.  It was easy to get caught up in the bitching … and kinda fun.  A total distraction from what I had planned for the day.  I believe we use ’stinky’ circumstances as a good excuse for why the good stuff is nowhere in sight.  Sometimes it’s easier to sit there and gripe than to identify what stinks and take care of it.

Whether it’s something in your business, something in your diet, something in your friendships, marriage or current lifestyle … you gotta get rid of the stinky stuff so the good stuff can come to you.

Selfish vs. Selfless

Selfish vs. Selfless … hmm.

The original definitions go a little something like this:

Selfish:  concerned primarily with one’s own interests, benefits, welfare, well-being; characterized by care or concern only for oneself. … self-seeking, self-ful, self-ending

Selfless:  having little or no concern for oneself … devoted to others welfare and interest and not one’s own.

The connotation got screwed up.  It wasn’t until the 19th century that these words became a judgement on individual character.

Why would a person not have concern for themselves, their needs, their hopes, dreams and desires?  Why would anyone ever put someone else’s needs above their own?  Because we’ve been told it’s wrong.

I am a loving mother, devoted wife, loyal friend, and dedicated to my clients and business.  I am also selfish.  I claim it with everything I am.    I put my personal needs, hopes, dreams and desires above everyone elses… and it’s a good thing.  Why?  Because when I do, I can give to others from a place that is pure of heart – without obligation, without resentment, without being put upon.

Selflessness is revered by our society.  Self-less.  Without self.  Without heart, soul, pure passion, love?

It’s because of ”selfless” that the new buzz word for women is Self-Care.  Self-Care (def): care for the self without medical or professional consultation.  That’s not good enough for me.

Here’s how I promote to claim SELFISHness:

1) Create a nourishment menu full of things YOU love.

2) Put your needs on your schedule FIRST, then plug in everything else.  You are worth it.

3) Ask yourself first and trust the answers … the magic is inside of you.

Ya know, the word “bitch” was derogatory to women until it was claimed as empowering.  How about we put Selfish next on the agenda?

Invision Mirrors are way better than vision boards.

Lots of people ask me how things FLOW for me so fast.

I make decisions that I want something then everything lines up for it to happen.

Just 3 years ago, I was just a stay-at-home mom who watched CBS soaps and played tennis at the club.

Now, I’m an award-winning author, have a product coming out in Dick’s sporting goods this summer, filmed a TV pilot and get paid to do what I love. How do I do it?
I prepare myself with the right ‘tools’…
1. I take really great care of myself, because that IS a vibrational match to success.
2. I believe deep in my soul that I am important and worthy and of great value.
3. I prepare my life to receive everything I want.
4. I let go of the outcome and let all things work themselves out.
5. I set heartfelt intentions and use my invision mirror to raise my vibration to the life I want.

This is how I stay in the flow. This is how I allow amazing things to come into my life.

Like this … I set the intention to manifest $8000. I focused on why I wanted it because there’s a reason … believed in my soul that I was worthy of it … used my invision mirror to invision how killer it was having it … let go of the outcome of how it was coming to me and then BAM! My husband came home and said we were getting exactly $8000 back from our taxes. This happens to me all the time.

If you want success, you must live successfully. You must see yourself living successfully … and it’s alot easier to do with the Invision Mirror than it is with just a regular ol’ vision board. I gonna say “TA-DA!” right here – I’m feeling very magical.

My Soul Deserves a Slammin House!

I’ve been in a cocoon for months. Wriggling, squirming, growing, and getting ready to break-free and unleash some very kick-ass stuff. Well, while I’ve been working on all these new cool things, I’ve let my housework slide. I’m talking about the house where my very badass soul lives!

I’ve neglected my house … let things go … put things off for later … where’s the love?

Yes, I believe in body love. Yes, I believe in Fit Enough. Yes, I believe in if it feels good, do it.

I also believe in cherishing the house where your soul lives. Your soul deserves the most kickin’ house ever.

Last night, I realized my soul wants to start gettin the good stuff in a body that is loved, cherished, nourished and deeply cared for everyday.
I also realized that I look good in a bikini & heels (after 2 glasses of wine it seemed like a good idea to take pictures). I look good because I do take good care of myself – what if I took GREAT care of myself? the kind of care my soul wants me to give my body? That’s right – it becomes a SLAMMIN HOUSE.

So, it’s ON … let the housework begin!

This is my plan if you want to do a little housework with me:
60 Second Circuits - 2 days/week
ZNA Trainer- O2 Breakthrough 3 days/week
Eat FRESH fruit, vegetables, fish and sprouted grains
Use my Silvergel Shaper (yes, I invented this & it WILL be in the marketplace this summer)

and continuing doing these things that work…
Sleep 8 hours each night
Have a lot of sex – rawrr
and cherish my whole self all the time.
